I’ve met so many amazing friends thanks to photography. I’ve known Jessica for a few years now and am so thankful for friends like her. As most of you know, last year I lost 40 lbs. It was a long tough road but I did it and am so proud of myself. Jessica does 5Ks and marathons (she completed the Spartan Trifecta, she’s the real deal folks!) and last spring she messaged me about doing the Dirty Girl 5K. At first I told her NO WAY! I couldn’t run 3 miles, heck I couldn’t walk 3 miles! Later in the summer she asked again and I agreed. I was signed up on her team and excited for the race! Two days before the race I messaged her and told her I didn’t want to go. I was so nervous and didn’t know if I could complete all of the obstacles. Jessica reassured me I could and told me she would stay with me the whole race. Race day came and all I had to eat was a pop-tart (Hey! I’m not a racer, give me a break!). Jessica gave me a protein bar and told me to eat up. As we started the race, little did I know what I was in for. Mud, mud and more MUD! Jessica and the rest of the girls on our team (I didn’t know anyone but Jessica) had a blast. We stuck together and all completed every.single.obstacle. I’ve never been more proud of myself than when I crossed that finish line and have Jessica to thank for pushing and encouraging me to keep on keepin’ on. Jessica, you’ll never know how much our friendship means to me. I know we don’t see each other often or hang out much but thank you for always being an encouragement and being an even better friend.
Enough of that mushy stuff!
Saturday Jessica messaged me and asked me if I’d planned on doing any snow mini sessions. I told her I hadn’t planned on it but we could get together and do some! Yesterday we met at a local school for some pictures. Let me tell you, it was COLD. Had the wind not been blowing, it wouldn’t have been bad! Jessica and her family were such troopers though. They were happy campers the whole time and we had a blast! Her little girls are absolutely adorable and looked like they stepped right out of a Gap ad! Such a loving family!! Aren’t they too cute?
