My best friend, Kelly of Kelly Broyles Photography, and I avoid talking on the phone like the plague. Back in the fall I got a text from her that said, “Need to talk to you ASAP. CALL ME.” So I’m like uh all my kids are in the bathtub and it’s not even bedtime, can it wait? She says, no call me. I immediately start playing 7000 terrible scenarios in my head as her phone is ringing. When she picks up the phone I can tell she’s nervous just by the way she answers. She then goes on to say “So, I’m pregnant.” Eeeek!!! I was so excited for her. In my life I can honestly say that watching my daughter become a big sister and love her baby brother’s has been one of the best gifts she could ever give me. I couldn’t wait for my best friend to experience this same joy. The months passed and I told Kelly frequently to let me know when she wanted a few maternity photos done. She insisted that she didn’t but I knew she would want them, especially if this is her last time being pregnant. At 37 weeks pregnant, she finally agrees! The day of her session, they were calling for extreme rain. Thankfully we were given a 10 minute window and were able to get some gorgeous shots at a farmer’s market and on Capital St. in Charleston, WV. We got some absolutely precious images of Kelly and her daughter that I know will be treasured forever.
Oh and how amazing does Kelly look for 37 weeks pregnant? She rocked those heels!!! I loved her simple outfit choice as well. When it comes to maternity photos, simple is always best!
